We also allow time to visit the fabulous new English Heritage Stonehenge Visitor Centre which is now a transformed experience. The new world-class visitor centre, housing museum-quality permanent and temporary exhibitions, plus a spacious shop and café. We include time to explore the centre, do some shopping and have a coffee / snack
Then we will visit key archaeology sites including Durrington Walls, Woodhenge and The Cursus and learn more about the archaeological landscape and investigative work that has taken place in recent years.
"The big skies, striking views of the stone circle and sense of ancientness make the Stonehenge landscape a fine place for a truly magical guided tour"
As we meander through the countryside to Avebury, we pass famous white horses carved into the chalk hillsides and picturesque, tucked away villages. We explore the mysterious phenomena of crop circles and take a closer look at any which may be in the area. Spend quality time exploring the Avebury World Heritage Landscape.
"Unique to this guided tour is the sense of being in an ancient and sacred place; the combination of the natural and historic sights is simply spectacular."
Avebury, the largest stone circle in Britain and the product of over 500 years of effort by Neolithic man. Enjoy a walking tour of this ancient site and try your hand at the ancient art of dowsing. Prepare to be amazed ! There's also time to explore the charming village of Avebury with its thatched cottages, antiques and village church - and maybe enjoy a cream tea or pint in beer in the Red Lion.
We also visit Silbury Hill, the largest man-made hill in prehistoric Europe. We enter the 5600 year old burial chamber of West Kennet Long Barrow, entering a sacred space originally reserved only for ritual specialists and the dead.
We can also arrange extra VIP Stonehenge access dates for private groups, ideal for couples, families and small groups
PAT SHELLY WAS AMAZING. We joined your special access guided coach tour from Salisbury in August and did the inner circle thing. I highly recommend this experience for anyone wishing to experience Stonehenge close up. This tour was combined with Salisbury Cathedral and Woodhenge.
